Amir Kalali, M.D., Chairperson
Dr. Kalali is recognized globally as a leading innovator at the intersection of life sciences and technology. He sits on the board of directors of multiple private and publicly traded companies. Dr. Kalali is professor of Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego, editor of the journal Innovations in Clinical Neuroscience, and the lead editor of the book Essential CNS Drug Development. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Kalali was the founding chairman of the executive committee of the International Society for CNS Drug Development (ISCDD) and a founding member of the International Society for CNS Clinical Trials and Methodology (ISCTM).
Geraldine Dawson, Ph.D., FAPA, FAPS
Dr. Dawson is the William Cleland Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University, where she is also a professor of Pediatrics and Psychology & Neuroscience. She serves as the director of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, whose mission is to promote interdisciplinary brain science and translate discoveries into solutions for health and society, and directs the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development, an NIH Autism Center of Excellence. She is also associate director of the Marcus Center for Cellular Cures, which aims to discover cellular treatments that can improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals with autism.
Professor Stephen Faraone, Ph.D.
Dr. Faraone is a distinguished professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience & Physiology at SUNY Upstate Medical University and director of Research for the Department of Psychiatry. He is also senior scientific advisor to the Research Program Pediatric Psychopharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Faraone studies the nature and causes of mental disorders in childhood and has contributed to research in psychiatric genetics, psychopharmacology, diagnostic issues and methodology.
Robert L. Findling, M.D., MBA
Dr. Findling is the professor and department chair of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, as well as a C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Distinguished Chair in Clinical & Translational Research. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology at Johns Hopkins University and completed medical school at VCU. Dr. Findling then completed training in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as part of the “Triple Board” joint training program at Mount Sinai in New York. Dr. Findling has received both national and international recognition as a clinical investigator.
Roger S. McIntyre, M.D., FRCPC
Dr. McIntyre is a professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at the University of Toronto and head of the Mood Disorders Psychopharmacology Unit at the University Health Network, Toronto, Canada. Dr. McIntyre is also executive director of the Brain and Cognition Discovery Foundation in Toronto and director for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) in Chicago. He serves in multiple instructor positions, including professor at Nanshan Scholar at Guangzhou Medical University, adjunct professor in the College of Medicine at Korea University, and clinical professor at The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
Alan F. Schatzberg, M.D.
Dr. Schatzberg is the Kenneth T. Norris, Jr. Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the chair of the department at Stanford University. He received his MD from New York University and completed his psychiatric residency at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. After serving in the United States Air Force, Dr. Schatzberg joined the staff at McLean Hospital and the faculty of Harvard Medical School, where he became a professor of Psychiatry. He has served as the president of the American Psychiatric Association, American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and the Society of Biological Psychiatry.
Stephen M. Stahl, M.D., Ph.D., DSc (Hon)
Dr. Stahl is an internationally recognized clinician, researcher and teacher in psychiatry with subspecialty expertise in psychopharmacology. He has held faculty positions at Stanford University, the University of California, Los Angeles, the Institute of Psychiatry London, the Institute of Neurology London, and currently serves as a professor at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Stahl previously served as executive director of Clinical Neurosciences at the Merck Neuroscience Research Center in the U.K. for several years. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Northwestern University in Chicago and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Chicago.
